I was born and raised on Long Island, NY in a small quiet town nestled along Great South Bay on the south shore. And I'm happy to say I have recently moved back to NY to become a full time freelance photographer. I have been surfing for about 14 years, and started in photography in the spring of 2014. I am a proud graduate of the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD with a degree in Oceanography, and served 6 years on active duty before leaving the Navy. I first picked up a camera in 2014. I was first drawn to nature and landscape photography while I was stationed in Panama City Beach, FL, but soon decided to try my hand at surf photography and quickly realized it was the perfect combination of two of the things I enjoyed most. After I moved back to New York in 2018 and rejoined the fire department, I discovered a whole new genre of photography, fireground photography. Surfing and firefighting make an unusual couple, but they’re the two things I enjoy most in this world, so I do my best to capture meaningful images of both.
